How to Cut, Copy, and Paste in Google Docs

Here's How:

  1. Copy is used to duplicate text or other elements. Select or highlight some text, for example. Then select Edit - Copy, type a shortcut appropriate for your device's operating system such as Ctrl - C, or right-click and select Copy. Then Paste the copy as outlined in Step 3 below.
  2. Cut is used to omit items with the intent of placing them elsewhere. Select or highlight some text, for example. Then select Edit - Cut, type a shortcut appropriate for your device's operating system such as Ctrl - X, or right-click and select Cut. Then Paste the cut as described in Step 3 below.

  3. Paste is used to place items you have Copied or Cut. Click where you want the item, then select Edit - Paste, type a shortcut appropriate for your device's operating system such as Ctrl - V, or right-click and select Paste.
