Step 6. If you decided to download the backup, you'll be prompted to start the process now. Or, if you wish, you could elect to receive a link in a confirmation email that lets you download the backup when you have more time.

Download times vary according to your location and the speed of your Internet connection (as we mentioned earlier, only high-speed connections are recommended). For an estimate of how long it will likely take you to download your backup copy, see Figure F. Not every Office product is in Figure F, but the file sizes listed are comparable to other similar products.

Step 7. After the download is complete, save the file to the type of removable storage you prefer, such as a disc or flash drive device.

Troubleshooting Issues

If have questions about your product key and/or need help downloading or ordering your Office 2010 backup copy, the support option you need to contact depends on where you purchased your suite.

Purchased suite from retail store. Users who purchased Office 2010 from a retail store, should contact Microsoft Support by visiting its Contact Us page and choosing one of its options, such as calling a representative, chatting with him or her online, sending an email to the support team, or asking an automated agent general questions for quick answers.

Purchased suite from online store. Users who need help with product key questions and other issues related to suites either downloaded online or installed after ordering the DVD online should contact Digital River.
